GIVING BACK
Ad Valorem Tax Payments
Ad Valorem payments represent taxes on Plateau Electric Cooperative’s investments in power lines, buildings, equipment and other facilities needed to distribute electricity to our members. Plateau Electric Cooperative is the largest taxpayer in Scott County and the second-largest taxpayer in Morgan County.

UNIQUELY LOCAL
Community Outreach
Plateau Electric Cooperative is proud to support local events that bring our communities together. From Career Days and Safety Days to Victim Walks, Trunk or Treat events, and Christmas parades, PEC is an active and visible presence in the places we serve—giving back, showing up, and making a difference.
POWERING THE NEXT GENERATION
Washington Youth Tour
Each year, Plateau Electric Cooperative hosts a short story contest for high school juniors. Winners from Scott and Morgan counties earn a spot on the Washington Youth Tour—a week in the nation’s capital focused on leadership, public policy, civic engagement, and the power of cooperatives.

POWERING THE NEXT GENERATION
Youth Leadership Summit
Each year, Plateau Electric Cooperative selects outstanding high school juniors to attend the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Youth Leadership Summit in Nashville. This dynamic, two-day event gives students a close-up look at state government, electric co-ops, and the importance of leadership and civic involvement.
