911 Address – You may call (423)663-4986 to obtain a 911 address. We will need a current mailing address and a daytime phone number.
Location of Pole – Mark where you would like the pole to go by putting a stake in the ground and tying something around it. It cannot be closer than four (4) feet to the house/trailer/porches and no farther than thirty (30) feet.
House: Must have footers dug and poured, or basement started.
Trailer: Must be on site and tied down.
Completed Membership Application (need a photo ID) with membership and deposit paid. Membership is $5.00. Deposit is $200.00 for property owner or renter.
*FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION’S RED FLAG RULE – Proof of ownership for the property must be provided. The following will be accepted: Deed, Financial Documents, etc. All customers are required to show proof of eligibility to establish service at said location. If not the property owner, one of the following must be provided: Rent Receipt, Lease Agreement, etc. Business or other legal entity will need to provide: Business License, Corporate Records, etc.
Estimate by Engineer and fees must be paid before pole(s) will be set. The minimum cost is $200.00.
Septic Permit (we must have the original yellow copy) — This can be obtained at the Scott County Health Department in Huntsville. The phone number is (423)663-3750. **Town of Huntsville (423)663-3471.
Anchoring Decal (mobile homes) must be in the breaker box of the mobile home at the time of inspection.
Cost of Permits: (Fees may change based on amp size)
Temporary Service (200 Amp) Rough In – $35.00
Final (200 Amp) – $35.00
Heat & Air (HVAC) – $35.00
Service Release (200 Amp) – $35.00
Issue fee in addition to permit cost – $3.00
***All permits must be purchased by the electrician that you are using. Homeowner can purchase a homeowner permit for their primary residence only. Visit www.core.tn.gov to purchase permits or call our office.
**TENNESSEE CODE 0780-02-01-.11 STATES THAT OCCUPANCY OF A DWELLING SHALL BE PROHIBITED BEFORE FINAL INSPECTION HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND APPROVED.
*You will need to contact the Scott County Office when you are ready for inspection (423) 569-8591. The electrical inspector is in the Scott County Office on Monday and Wednesday. The state electrical inspector is Kenny Green (931)-704-2997 and will receive calls on inspection days from 7:00-8:00am. Make sure everything is open/unlocked the day of inspection.
