Dear Plateau Electric Customer:

The Plateau Electric Cooperative employees and Board of Directors welcome you as a member-owner of the cooperative.

This website contains constructive information about Plateau Electric. Should you have questions about Plateau Electric, please do not hesitate to ask any employee or board member.

You, the member-owner, are the very heart of this cooperative. I invite you to attend Plateau Electric’s annual meeting, held on the first Saturday in May, and to vote in the Directors’ election, held on the third Saturday in May each year.

The Tennessee Valley Authority provides the electricity distributed to you by Plateau Electric. Approximately seventy cents of each dollar goes toward purchasing TVA power. The balance is used for construction, line and tree maintenance, salaries and other operational and maintenance expenses.

Loans for building power lines are borrowed from the Rural Utilities Service. RUS is a federal agency that loans low-interest, long-term money to electric cooperatives serving rural areas.

I pledge to you my support and the support of all Plateau Electric employees to fulfill our obligations while providing you with dependable service at the lowest possible price.

Sincerely,

Dave Cross, CEO
